Chad Beck
Many of Chad's experiences studying psychology helped prepare him for the practice of Social Security disability law. Chad worked in the laboratory of Dr. John Schafer for more than a year studying the interrelation of substance abuse and domestic violence and helped to spearhead an investigation into the prevalence of MDMA use in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Additionally, Chad spent his senior year at the University of Cincinnati researching personality and cognitive factors associated with alcohol consumption. Through the tutelage and mentoring of Dr. Kevin Corcoran, the findings of his research were submitted to the American Psychological Association's National Convention in August, 2002 entitled "A Prototype Analysis of Social and Isolated Drinking Situations." Following graduation but prior to his matriculation into law school, Chad worked for one year as a behavioral specialist at St. Joseph's Orphanage in Cincinnati, Ohio. Chad's position here afforded him the opportunity to work closely with disadvantaged youth suffering from a variety of mental disorders. Chad's duties included assisting the youth through intense emotional counseling and group leadership. Chad earned his law degree in 2005 from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. While in law school, Chad worked with the Cleveland Homeless Legal Assistance Program (CHLAP) and served an externship in the fall of 2004 at The Housing Advocates, Inc., a public interest firm specializing in housing law Through his dedication and hard work, Chad received the Fair Housing Law Clinic Award. Chad was also a law clerk with the Lake County Prosecutor's Office from March, 2003, through March, 2004. Chad began his work at Margolius, Margolius, and Associates, LPA, as a law clerk in August, 2005, and became an attorney with the firm in May, 2006. Chad has already accumulated significant experience by representing many diverse clients at Social Security disability hearings. Chad's representation of Social Security clients is noteworthy for its thoroughness and zealous advocacy. In addition to practicing Social Security disability law, Chad has dealt with personal injury and employment discrimination cases. Chad is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. |
