Emily E. Warren

Emily Warren Emily Warren began working for Andrew Margolius as a law clerk in 2003. After attaining her undergraduate degree at Binghamton University in 2000, Warren graduated from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 2005 and was admitted to practice law in Ohio in 2006. She joined the firm of Margolius, Margolius & Associates as an associate attorney in 2006.

Emily has worked extensively on ERISA / Long Term Disability, SERS, OPERS, STRS, and Social Security cases since joining the firm. She also enjoys practicing in the civil rights areas of housing and employment discrimination. She recently argued before the 9th Appellate District of Ohio in a case which established a landlord’s duty to act to prevent discrimination between tenants. In addition, Emily has written briefs for both the U.S. Northern District of Ohio and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, advocating for an expansion of employee rights under ERISA. She has made this area of the law, which notoriously favors large insurance companies, one of her primary focuses.

Emily is admitted to practice before all Ohio Courts, as well as the before the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal Court for the Northern District of Ohio. She is a member of the American Bar Association; Cleveland Bar Association (in both the Young Lawyers Section and the Womens’ Law Section); Ohio Employment Lawyers Association; Cleveland Employment Lawyers Association; and the Cleveland Employment Inns of Court. She is currently working on a project with other local employment attorneys advocating new legislation which would provide for greater employment protections. Emily has dedicated herself to broadening the rights of sick and disabled employees in the workplace.
